‘Adeste fideles’

It’s Sunday, which means it’s #SundaySong time. And it’s Christmas. Do you see where I’m going, right?

Christmas carols were never a big deal at my family’s Christmas’ dinners, mainly because no one sings particularly well. We are not tone deaf, but let’s just say that it is better if we don’t sing. We would put on the radio or a CD with Christmas carols and music and that would be all.

Through time I’ve come to discover Christmas songs from different countries: Spain, Italy, France, England, Congo… but the one I prefer is an universal one, Adeste fideles. We would sing it during the Sundays after Christmas at the church I went to in Spain, and we sang it yesterday at Midnight Mass in Belgium. Of course, it didn’t sound as beautifully as this version by Andrea Bocelli, but the heart and the feeling were there.

Merry Christmas to you all!
